
Alberta Co-operative Energy has developed Scholarships for Members, or the children of Members, or the grandchildren of Members as we recognize the tremendous amount of dedication, hard work, and educational funding for students to achieve their goals. We encourage you to apply for the one scholarship that best suits your area of expertise as you may only apply for one scholarship.

Employees of Alberta Co-operative Energy and its subsidiaries or parent companies, and any child or grandchildren of employees of Alberta Co-operative Energy and its subsidiaries or parent companies are not eligible for the Scholarships.

$500 Scholarship for Academic Achievement
ACE will award one scholarship for Academic Achievement. The award is for the applicant with the Highest Average achieved in four grade 12 subjects (English, Sciences, Social Studies, Mathematics in any combination of these total 4 subjects). Verification documentation must be provided with your application.

$500 Volunteerism Scholarship Award
ACE will award one scholarship for Volunteerism. The award is for the applicant with the best 1000-word essay on why you have chosen to volunteer with the organization(s) you have; for which you received no pay, school credits, or marks for your contribution (work experience, playing on a sports team etcetera will not be considered) and how your experience has changed your life. You must provide the approximate hours completed over the last 3 years and two (2) signed and dated Reference letters outlining your volunteerism must be included with your application.

$500 Co-operative Leadership Scholarship Award
ACE will award one scholarship for Co-operative Leadership. The award is for the applicant with the best 1000-word essay on how you displayed leadership with the organization(s) you have worked with and how your experience has changed your life. Your essay must include the ways your efforts have strengthened others, how long you have been involved in leadership, what you think the long-term impact will be for you because of your leadership experience, and how your involvement showed initiative and innovation. Two (2) signed and dated Reference letters outlining your leadership involvement must be included with your application.
To be eligible to receive above mentioned Scholarships, you the Scholarship Applicant:

Must be a valid Membership holder, or the child of a valid Membership holder, or the grandchild of a valid Membership holder in Alberta Co-operative Energy and the Membership holder must reside full time in ACE’s service area.

ACE Membership of the scholarship applicant, or the sponsoring parent(s), or the sponsoring grandparent(s), must be at least 1 full year in length, prior to scholarship application and must have a valid Electrical and/or Natural Gas Service Contract with Alberta Co-operative Energy (and be consuming energy through ACE at the time of application).

Must be currently enrolled in your graduating year at a Canadian High School (or have graduated within the previous six months) and will be enrolled full-time in a degree or diploma program at a recognized publicly funded Canadian University or College in the Fall 2023 academic term (please provide proof of acceptance).
Selection Process:

The recipient for each category will be selected on a lottery style basis conducted by Committee if multiple complete applications are received for the same category.

All portions of application must be completed and submitted with required verification documentation or required essay and reference letters. Incomplete or incorrectly completed applications will be rejected.

No confirmation of receipt of application will be sent to applicants.

A Scholarship will be awarded to the successful applicant within 30 days following the deadline.
