As Alberta’s first full service co-operative energy retailer, ACE has a unique position in the marketplace; providing consumers with low cost access to energy options (electricity, natural gas and green offset credits) along with great micro generator rates, and an added bonus is the opportunity for partial ownership of ACE through customer membership. ACE operates with a high level of transparency and openness, a culture that co-operatives are known for and no other retailer can match. We’re reaching out to like-minded businesses to form an exceptional partnership and bring competitive energy to Alberta consumers.

Our partnering options offer excellent flexibility! For potential investment partners with a substantial customer base we offer the opportunity to join our business and offer your customers our competitively priced energy products.  If you’re seeking the chance to enhance and grow your existing business, we have a plan whereby you can market our energy products and reap the rewards. If you’re pursuing the prospect of starting a new business in retail energy, we can offer our expertise and assistance. And, if you’re a member of the ACCA you have the opportunity to allocate funds to ACCA (to offset your membership dues, etc.). Finally, we’ll offer access to unique energy management and procurement expertise, along with access to a website construction partner (facilitation only).

The Full Partner option provides the most control and remuneration with significant monetary and time investments.

  • Share in ACE’s profits

  • 2 seats on the Board of Directors

  • Participate in decision making as it pertains to the governance of ACE

  • Lower cost access to energy supply (for Partner’ facility)

  • Access to unique energy management and procurement expertise

  • Control of retail energy products and marketing to Partner’s members, employees and consumers

  • Product expansion for partner’s consumers/members (either Partner’s brand or ACE’s brand) with managed financial exposure upon successful negotiation with an ACE partner for backstopped prudentials

  • Competitive electricity and natural gas rates along with cost effective administration fees for Partner’s members, employees, and consumers

  • Accurate billing and billing portal for Partner’s members/consumers

  • Retailer licensing, billing and customer care fees are covered by ACE

  • Access to industry information, forecasts, market analysis, wholesale pricing and consumer data

  • Opportunity to allocate funds to ACCA to offset membership dues

FULL PARTNERSHIP
(Investment Partner with Significant Customer Base) provides for:
MARKETING PARTNER
(Promoting Energy Products Under ACE’s Brand

As A Recommended Service Provider) provides for:

The Marketing Partner option would provide the greatest compensation with the least monetary or time investment for the new cooperative partner.

  • Increased profits (due to sales compensation)

  • Access to unique energy management and procurement expertise

  • Competitive electricity and natural gas rates along with cost effective administration fees, call center and consumer billing portal

  • Partial revenue sleeve back (commission) to Marketing Partner based on uptake (per site signup or % of margin (for the first year of customer's consumption))

  • Control of marketed retail energy products and marketing initiatives to Marketing Partner’s employees, customers and/or members

  • Value added growth to Marketing Partner’s customers and members through product expansion

  • Set up and marketing materials supplied (if required)

  • Access to website construction partner (facilitation only)

  • Data (i.e. reports as pertains to uptake)

  • Opportunity to allocate funds to ACCA to offset membership dues

The Full Partnership Conditions Include:

  • ACE Board approval of Full Partnership application

  • Execution of a Unanimous Members Agreement outlining the terms and conditions of the Full Partner arrangement

  • Provision of minimum $30,000 operating capital (with final determination of operating capital required to be determined by ACE Board)

  • Significant customer base

  • Retailer licensing fees and service costs provided by ACE

  • Market either Partner’s brand or ACE’s branded products and services to members, employees and consumers

The Marketing Partner Conditions Include:

  • Execution of an agreement outlining the terms and conditions of the Marketing Partner arrangement

  • Market ACE branded products and services to employees, customers and/or members

  • Retailer licensing fees and service costs provided by ACE

ASSOCIATE RETAIL OPERATOR PARTNER
(ACE Providing Knowledge and Structure Only) Provides for:

The Associate Retail Operator Partner option will require a significant monetary and time investment undertaken by the new partner (in setting up their own business) with ACE providing knowledge and structure only.

  • Participate in decision making as pertains to Associate Retail Operator’s energy plans promoted

  • Access to unique energy management and procurement expertise

  • Control of retail energy products and marketing to Associate Retail Operator’s employees, consumers and/or members

  • Branded services (Associate Retail Operator’s brand) with managed financial exposure upon successful negotiation with an ACE partner for backstopped prudentials

  • Accurate billing and billing portal for Partner’s members/consumers

  • Retailer licensing (fees are set per product)

  • Set up fee for billing and call center management

  • Annual renewal fee required due to retailer ID’s with AESO

  • Website construction partner facilitation (if required)

  • Data (i.e. reports)

The Associate Retail Operator Partner Conditions Include:

  • Execution of an agreement outlining the terms and conditions of the Associate Retail Operator Partner arrangement

  • Initial set up fee and annual renewal fee

  • Retailer licensing fees (fees are set per product)

  • Service costs are minimum fee or per site fee (dependent upon whether minimum growth objectives met) for billing and call center management

  • Facilitation (only) of website construction partner

  • Market Associate Retail Operator’s branded products and services

TERMS for PARTNERING OPPORTUNITIES

The Terms for All Partnering Opportunities Include:

  • The term of all partnerships will be based on mutual agreement.

  • Implementation will be through a joint working group to ensure that the requirements of both parties’ needs are addressed and met with respect to the contractual requirements, market, offerings, timing, and branding.

  • Upon expiry the partnership may be extended upon mutual agreement of terms and conditions.

  • Please note: All opportunities contained herein are valid for 30 days from date of initial tender and partnering opportunities may be withdrawn without notice.

  • Privacy: we required email confirmation of understanding and adherence

  • Code of Conduct: we require an annual signed Code of Conduct policy
